About Springfield Epoxy Floors

Springfield Epoxy Floors puts resin coatings on concrete in Springfield, IL and the surrounding towns of Sangamon County and central Illinois. Most of our work is garage floors, followed by basements, workshops, machine sheds and commercial back rooms. We install epoxy, polyaspartic and flake broadcast systems, and we repair cracked and worn concrete before any of them go down.

We decide on a system after we have looked at the slab. A 1970s attached garage in a Springfield subdivision, a detached garage behind a pre-war house near downtown, and a basement that sweats every July each need something different. The coating is the last step. What lasts or fails is decided by the grinding, the moisture readings and the repairs that come first.

What you can expect from us

• A visit to measure the floor, take moisture readings and note cracks, oil, scaling and old coatings.
• A written quote that lists the system, each coat, the prep work and the total.
• Diamond grinding of the whole slab, edges included, followed by a thorough vacuum.
• Cracks, spalls and pitted areas filled before the first coat.
• Clear instructions on when to walk on the floor, when to move things back and when to park.
• Written approval from you before anything is added to the scope.

We only coat concrete. If a slab shows signs of a problem a coating cannot solve, such as active water entry, heaving, or a crack that keeps opening, we explain what we saw and suggest who to call before you put money into a new floor.
